Admission Requirements

Are you interested in taking a course?

Most of our courses are open enrollment, which means that no transcripts, letters of recommendation, or essays are required. Simply complete our registration process.

Some courses have prerequisites, which are listed in course descriptions. In certain subjects, proof of English proficiency is required if English is not a student's primary language. In addition, some courses require placement tests. Courses with an enrollment limit fill on a first-come, first-served basis.

Are you interested in earning a degree?

The admissions process for our undergraduate and graduate programs differs from admission to traditional programs. You must meet specific admission criteria and complete required courses to be admitted. We do not keep waitlists for our programs. Students who meet the admissions criteria will be admitted.

**Our undergraduate and graduate programs do require students to write essays as part of their application. However, they do not require personal interviews, standardized test scores, (such as the SAT, GRE and GMAT), or letters of recommendation.

Admission to these programs requires that you take three specific courses and meet the grade requirements before you apply. The three preadmission courses vary by program. View the Admissions page within each program's section to learn more about admission criteria.

All programs do require minimum TOEFL scores for nonnative English speakers.

Submitting Your Application

Most of our degree programs admit students 3 times a year in the fall, spring, and summer. See your program's How to Apply page for exact dates. For students interested in the Master of Liberal Arts (ALM) program, admissions are rolling, and you may apply at any time during the year.

For most programs, you can complete an online application form (available during the application periods). Contact a program advisor if you need assistance.
